Here we are at the end of the season
again! All we can do now is look forward to next winter and hope for
more winter-like conditions. All in all, it’s been a great season;
with a late start to winter, we finally got snow - light and fluffy
snow that was difficult to keep in the trails, but conditions have
steadily improved and the riding has been great this month.
The lobster and steak dinner was a
huge success, as usual. Everyone appeared to have a great time and
the food was delicious. Harvey Chesley, Director of Pine Tree Camp
and President of the Maine Snowmobile Association, was present at the
dinner. Harvey did a presentation of what Pine Tree Camp is all about
and explained some of their goals for the future. For those of you
that don’t know, Pine Tree Camp, located in the Belgrade Lakes area of
Maine, is a great place for children and young adults who are
physically disabled to go and enjoy some of the activities that the
rest of us take for granted. If anyone would like more information
on the Camp, you can write to Pine Tree Society, PO Box 518, Bath,
Maine 04530. After Harvey’s presentation, we “passed a hat” and
collected a good sum of money to donate to the camp projects. A 50/50
raffle was held at the dinner and was won by Robert Winsor who donated
half of his winnings to Pine Tree Camp and the other half to the
Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Club. Harvey exclaimed that he has never
seen such a generous bunch of people as we have in our club.
The March Easy Bucks drawing was won
by Monika Taylor and Frank Cerminara, both of Rangeley.
The April membership meeting will be
held on April 14th at the Episcopal Church Hall on Main
Street in Rangeley. The dinner will be potluck. If you plan to
attend, please bring a dish to share with others. Dinner will be at
5:30 and the meeting will follow. Please keep in mind that the May
meeting is nomination of officers and Board of Directors and the June
meeting is election.
At the March meeting, we made an
announcement that there would be no April newsletter, however, PJ’s
Powersports, the new Rangeley Arctic Cat dealer, has arranged an
event that we felt you might want to attend.
The information is enclosed with this newsletter. [3/28 - The Radar
Run for this event has been cancelled due to the ice melting -

There is still excellent riding in the
Rangeley area. As usual with Spring riding, please watch for water
holes and bare spots. Hope you can get here for one more ride!
Until next month………
