Have you got your snowmobile ready to
go? It won’t be long now. A few more snowstorms and the groomers
will be out there getting the trails ready.
Thanks to the volunteers who have been
in the area on weekends working on the trails, cutting brush,
repairing and building bridges, working on re-routes, etc. Looks like
we’re in pretty good shape, all we need is a little more snow!
Some of you have probably already
heard about the big “re-route” on ITS 84 between Parmachenee Lake and
Oquossoc. We will not be using the new bridge over the Magalloway
River that was built last year. The re-route will be clearly marked
and we are also marking the change on our trail maps. This is
temporary; we will be going back to the old trail next season. A lot
of hard work has gone into this trail change – thanks to all the guys
who have worked on this trail re-route!!! By the way, this is due to
logging operations and the land owner has done everything possible to
help us with the trail change.
Easy Bucks winners at the November
meeting were Genia Lomuscio and Robert Pulkka. Neither were present
so they won $50.
A vote was taken at the November
meeting regarding the adoption of the by-laws proposed by the by-law
committee. The vote was unanimously in favor of adopting the by-laws
as written. A copy of the by laws was mailed to you in October. If
you would like another copy, please write or e-mail us and we will
mail you a copy. You can also find them on our
web page.
Have you sent in your reservation for
the Christmas party? If not, please
remember to send it in soon as we need to give the restaurant a count
for the dinner. Also, don’t forget to send in those 50/50 tickets.
Of course, you can buy them at the party also.
Another important reminder – the MSA
Super Raffle tickets must be sent in NOW!!! The drawing is on
December 17th which means that I must have them within the
next week to get them mailed to the Maine Snowmobile Association in
time for the drawing. There are a lot of prizes to be won on these
tickets, including four snowmobiles. You can’t win unless you buy a
ticket!!! Remember, the club gets to keep $1 for each ticket sold and
this money goes into our grooming program.
Plans for
Snodeo are shaping up – an addition to this year’s program is the
float contest. We are inviting groups, other clubs, businesses and
even individuals to put floats in the snowmobile parade. Trophies
will be awarded for best floats. A Snodeo agenda will be sent out
with the January newsletter. The usual events will be held – radar
runs, obstacle course, poker run, turkey bowling, etc. Anyone who has
time to help during Snodeo, please let us know. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
If you haven’t joined the club yet,
this will be your last newsletter. With new memberships taken this
year and old un-renewed memberships, we are mailing out approximately
450 newsletters each month. The cost for 5 rolls of stamps is $185.
In order to keep the postage costs down, we will only be mailing
newsletters to members in good standing after this month. Please mail
your renewal in. If you have received a
membership form with this newsletter,
this means that you have not renewed your membership for the 2002/2003
season.
Until next month, think snow!!!!!!!

Please
visit our Sponsors page to check out businesses who have donated
or pledged to donate to our grooming and
trail maintenance program for this season. Be sure
to patronize these businesses when in the area. It is due to their donations that we have the great riding conditions we
all enjoy!
