RANGELEY LAKES SNOWMOBILE CLUB

NEWSLETTER

June 2002

RLSC Newsletter Past Issues

Here we are into summertime already!!!  The season sure did fly by.  The next newsletter will be the September 2002 issue when we start kicking off the new season and the membership campaign for next year.

The May meeting had so few members in attendance it was void.  According to the Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Club by-laws, a quorum of at least 15 members is required to hold a meeting.  Only 13 members were in attendance.  The May meeting was scheduled to be nominations for Election of Officers.  The Election of Officers will take place  at the June 8th meeting, as reported in the May newsletter, and at this time nominations will also be made. The June 8th meeting will be held at the Rangeley Congregational Church with social hour at 5:30 PM, dinner (cookout prepared by Daphne Scribner and Linda Whitford) at 6:30 PM, meeting to follow dinner.

The Nominating Committee for the June election is comprised of Phil Weymouth, Jim Quimby and Christian “Smokey” Raymond.   If you wish to nominate someone for an office, please contact one of these people.  Present Officers are up for re-election and there is one vacant position to be filled on the Board of Directors.

Easy Bucks winners for May were Howard Lewis of Oquossoc, Maine and Dan Donahue of  Westboro, Mass.  Neither were present so they won $50 each.

As reported in the May newsletter, Mark Kelley, RLSC Club member, has donated four tickets to a NFL game at Foxboro Stadium in Massachusetts. (New England Patriots vs. Green Bay Packers).  This game is scheduled for Columbus Day weekend in October and they are prime aisle seats at the new stadium.  Raffle tickets are enclosed with this newsletter, please consider buying them – the funds generated from this raffle will be put in the RLSC Club House building fund. Just return the ticket stubs with a check to the club at the address above.   The drawing will be held at the September membership meeting.  If you would like to buy or sell more tickets, please let us know and they will be mailed to you.

During the summer, we will be updating the RLSC web page with the new membership form, calendar of events for next season, etc.

I hope everyone has a safe, happy summer.  Looking forward to next winter and hopefully, more winter-like conditions next season.

Until September…………..

Gail Gavigan, Secretary

OOOPS.... We erroneously reported in last month's mailed out newsletter that RLSC member Gregg Silloway had won 2nd place in MSA's annual Photo Contest. Turns out he won it! This is the second consecutive year that he has won the contest, too. Congratulations, Gregg!

Please visit our Sponsors page to check out businesses who have donated or pledged to donate to our grooming and trail maintenance program for this season. Be sure to patronize these businesses when in the area. It is due to their donations that we have the great riding conditions we all enjoy!
