Easy Bucks winters for March were
Christian Raymond and David Arthurs, both of Rangeley. Neither were
present. Winners for April were Gregg Silloway of Oquossoc, Maine and
William Anthony of Millbury, MA. Neither were present.
The May meeting will be held on May
13th and the June meeting will be held on June 10th at the
Episcopal Church on Main St. in Rangeley. Both of these meetings will
be potluck dinners. Bring a dish to share with others. Desserts and
drinks will be provided.
At the May meeting, nominations will
be taken for club officers and Board of Directors members.
The annual election will be held at
the June meeting. We are desperately looking for someone to run for
the office of Club President. Clark announced that he will be giving
up the Presidency as of June 2006. Think about this position. We
need someone with knowledge of the trail system and also knowledge of
how the club is run, especially in coordination with the Maine
Snowmobile Association and the Maine Department of Conservation.
Clark has groomed Matt Kennedy for the position of Trailmaster –
something Clark has done himself for the past few years, so the
Trailmaster duties will not be as cumbersome for the new President,
even though the President will be responsible to see that the work is
done and done properly. Matt is sure to be a fine Trailmaster.
As you can see on the heading of this
newsletter, this will be the last one for this season. With postage
costs the way they are, this is being done to save money. Each
newsletter costs over $200 to send out when you figure the cost of
postage, paper, and envelopes. (Please consider having your
newsletter emailed to you when you renew your club membership for next
year to help us save on mailing costs - webmaster). So please, put
the dates for the May and June meetings on your calendar and keep your
eyes on the web page for any new news during the summer. Of course,
if something very important arises, we will send out notices.
The membership renewal packets will
be sent out around the first of September, as usual.
Many thanks to all the people who
helped the club this year in the way of working on the trails,
volunteering at the shows and Snodeo, and many thanks to the
businesses and organizations who helped us out by making donations,
either cash donations or in-kind donations. This is what makes our
club successful. Of course, Mother Nature wasn’t very cooperative
this season but we are sure next year will be much better. This was
very unusual weather for our area and from what I understand, there
hasn’t been a winter like this for many, many years.
We are looking for volunteers to man the booths
at the two snowmobile shows we attend. They are both in October.
More information will be available on the web page soon. If you are
interested, please write to us at the club address or e-mail me at
info@rangeleysnowmobile.com. One snowmobile show is
in Augusta, Maine and the other is in Springfield, Massachusetts.
We hope you all have a great, safe,
and healthy summer. Enjoy! Before you know it, we will be in
snowmobile mode again.
Hope to see you at the May and/or
June meetings!
Please
visit our Sponsors page to check out businesses who have donated
or pledged to donate to our grooming and
trail maintenance program for this season. Be sure
to patronize these businesses when in the area. It is due to their donations that we have the great riding conditions we
all enjoy!
The following members have
mailed in donations to help pay the additional cost of groomer fuel:
David Lucas,
Robert Winsor, Robert Haase, George Gardner, William Carpenter, Ed
Chapman, Rick Angelo, Brendan Brewer, Paul & Leslie
Ferguson-Packard, John Hamilton, David Wile, Joshua Curtice. Thanks
to Fred Barra for the tools donated.
MANY THANKS!!!!
