Here is it,
March already!!! About another month of great snowmobiling. We
haven’t had a lot of snow here but enough to keep the trails in great
condition. Hats off to our groomer operators and District
Trailmasters! We keep hearing from visitors that we have the best
trails in the State of Maine. All in all, it’s been a great season
for riding, and a great season for the club.
The March
meeting will be held at the Congregational Church on March 8th.
Social hour at 5:30 PM, dinner at 6:30 PM, meeting follows dinner.
The Rangeley School, Class of 2010 and their parents are preparing the
meal for this dinner as a fundraiser for their class. The menu will
consist of ham, mashed potato, corn, bread and assorted pies and ice
cream. Sounds yummy! Please try to attend – let’s make this a good
fundraiser for this group of great kids!
At our February
meeting, we honored Mr. Ronald Sargent of Rangeley by presenting his
family with a plaque and a trail sign, which shows that our trail
system has been named the “Ronald W. Sargent trail system”. Mr.
Sargent is the pioneer who created the trail system we are still using
today. Check out our website for photos and
information.
February Easy
Bucks winners were Rachel Violette and Brad Nystrom. Neither was
present at the meeting so they won $50 each.
The winner of
the 2003 Mini-Z we raffled off was Paul Jaffarian of Atkinson, NH.
Congratulations! We understand there is a new grandchild in the
Jaffarian family who will be able to enjoy the snowmobile!
We have Snodeo
2003 sweatshirts for $10 and hats for $6.00. These items can be seen
on our website. If you wish to order one,
just e-mail me at
info@rangeleysnowmobile.com and I will mail it to you
with an invoice for the item(s) plus shipping cost.
Also, we have
RLSC Club long-sleeve t-shirts in gray and tan that we sell for $18
and RLSC hats that we sell for $12.00. These can be mailed out to you
also. Just contact us by regular mail or e-mail. These items are

Also, we have
“Cash for Gas” booklets for sale. We are selling these books for
$90. This program offers you certificates that you can mail in with
your gas receipts once a month and you will receive a check in the
amount of $15 for each certificate you send in – or if you prefer, you
may use the certificates towards some great vacation travel deals. If
you would like more information, contact us at the e-mail address
below.
Special thanks
to Paul DeLong and Mike Oulton. Paul donated a moose horn for the
auction held during Snodeo and Mike Oulton painted “Snodeo 2003” and
the Club logo. The painting was exceptional – thanks to both of you!
Also, two names
were omitted from the list of people who helped make Snodeo 2003 a
success. These are Larry Koob and Peter Fox. Larry and Peter
arranged for the auction we held on Friday night, which was a very
successful fundraiser for the club. We hope to expand on this at
future Snodeos. Thanks to both of you!!!
That’s all the
news from here for now ------ hopefully you are all planning to visit
the Rangeley area to ride during the month of March. After March,
the snow usually disappears fast, so come up and get your riding in
while it’s still here and while grooming is still being done on a
regular schedule.
Until next
month.................
Please
visit our Sponsors page to check out businesses who have donated
or pledged to donate to our grooming and
trail maintenance program for this season. Be sure
to patronize these businesses when in the area. It is due to their donations that we have the great riding conditions we
all enjoy!
