Snowmobile Rescue Zones

The Town of Rangeley with cooperation from the Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Club has established snowmobile rescue zones on the Rangeley Region snowmobile trail system. If you observe or are involved in a serious snowmobile accident please try and remain calm, don’t panic. Provide care as necessary. Survey the scene to provide as much information to the dispatcher as possible. Immediately ride or have someone else ride to the nearest rescue zone to identify your location (rescue zone signs are reflective orange with white lettering and are normally spaced 3-6 miles apart) and dial 911 or if on a cell phone call *22 and wait for help. Stay on the line with the dispatcher and provide as much information as possible. Stay in the rescue zone to guide rescuers to the accident scene. Please call the Rangeley Town Office (207)-864-3326 for more information.
